HSE Safety Notice: Risks from legionella in cooling towers

Health & Safety Executive HSEFollowing on from the Edinburgh Legionnaires’ outbreak, the HSE has issued a safety warning about the risks of Legionella in Cooling towers and evaporative condensers.

The HSE advise that 90% of the outbreaks had their root causes in failures to identify risk (i.e. to recognise possible legionella problems) or to put in place effective schemes of control to deal with the identified risks.
