Launceston General Hospital in Cornwall has closed to the public after legionella bacteria were found in two locations within its water system.

The community hospital will now close for 4 weeks to allow a complete disinfection and to undertake what we understand is some preplanned remedial works on the water systems.

Peninsula Community Health have confirmed that there has been “no reason to suspect that public, patients or staff have been exposed to a specific risk of infection.”
