Fire Safety Training

HBE provides a range of fire training programmes to support our clients’ needs. These courses include:

  • Fire Safety Awareness Training
  • Fire Warden / Marshal & Key Person Training
  • Fire Extinguisher Training

Fire Safety Awareness Training

Basic Fire Awareness Training is a legal requirement that must be provided by all Employers.
This 2 hour training is delivered on-client site using PowerPoint presentations and fire equipment as training tools. The course content can be tailored to a level relevant to the requirements of occupancy and as an induction, initial or renewal level training.

Course Aims

To provide delegates with an understanding about:

  • Fire safety legislation
  • The responsibilities of a Fire Warden
  • Basic fire science/Fire classifications
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Means of escape for people with Special Needs
  • Fire prevention
  • Fire-fighting equipment

Fire Warden & Key Person Training

In addition to Fire Awareness training, there is a requirement for training of those people who are responsible for specific fire safety issues such as Fire Wardens, people in charge of departments with specific fire safety difficulties or risks and people who need advice on a specific issue.

This practical course lasting ½ day covers the duties and responsibilities of a nominated fire warden both in the event of a fire and during training drills.

This training is available as an induction, initial or renewal and can be provided at the place of employment.

Course Aims
To provide delegates with an understanding about:

  • Fire safety legislation
  • Fire risks in the premises
  • Fire safety measures in the building
  • Basic fire science
  • Actions in the event of fire
  • Action on hearing the fire alarm signal
  • Method of operation of manual call points
  • Location and use of fire extinguishers
  • Means for summoning the fire and rescue service

Fire Extinguisher Training

It is essential that fire marshals/wardens was well as other staff in your workplace know how to use a fire extinguisher safely and effectively.

Our fire extinguisher training enables you to manage a workplace fire situation and provides you with all the knowledge and practical experience needed to contain a fire at work.

Course Aims
To provide delegates with knowledge about:

  • Fire safety regulations/legislation
  • How fire and smoke spreads throughout a building
  • Types and classifications of fire
  • Most common causes of fire
  • Hazard spotting and reduction
  • Different types of fire extinguisher & fire blankets
  • Theory and Practical use of a Fire extinguisher

Accreditation
Delegates will be awarded a certificate of attendance. Please note that in tandem with our efforts to be more environmentally friendly and in line with our ISO14001 targets, training attendance certificates will be submitted in electronic format. Hard copies of the certificate can be provided at an additional cost.

The course will be supported with notes covering all aspects of the course. These notes will be a useful reference material for use in the work place.
