Due to demand, we have released an additional date for our popular one day City & Guilds Legionella Awareness training, in Shannon. In addition to the courses we are already running in Belfast on the 14th October and Naas on 15th October, we are now running an event in Shannon on Thursday 16th October. This course will provide delegates with an understanding to the background to Legionella, the diseases it causes; identify where and what it needs to thrive. It is designed to suit staff involved in the management and operation of building water systems and those who have a roll in the control procedures. If you wish to book a place or have any questions about the content or suitability of the programme or future dates, please do not hesitate to contact Sales Support by email or call us on 0845 6399 673 or from Ireland call 048 3083 3483.HBE are delighted to congratulate one of our specialist water hygiene trainers, David Harper, who has been recognised for his contribution and lifetime of service to water safety and combating Legionnaires’ disease.

As one of the leading engineers, trainers and speakers on Legionella control, David has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by SoPHE, the Society of Public Health Engineers. The award was presented by Chris Northey, Chairman of SoPHE and the President of IHEEM.

David commented that he was “honoured and privileged to receive the award and to be amongst a group of such esteemed people.”

The Honorary Fellowship from SoPHE follows David’s recent presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award from IHEEM. Both awards are testament to David’s long service and significant contribution to this specialist field.
